Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Crescent ("the app") collects, why, and the choices you have. Crescent is made by Eternal Studios LLC ("we", "us"), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
What we collect
Your account. When you start, we create an account for you without a password or email. If you choose Save with Apple or Sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and, if you allow it, an email address (which can be a private relay address Apple creates for you).
What you add to Crescent. Your first name and your partner's name, the date you got together, your answers to questions, love notes, moods, countdowns, photos and snaps, drawings, your cat's name and look, and your games (moves, scores and answers). While you're paired, this is stored on our servers so it can appear on both phones.
Shop and coins. The coins in your shared jar, the items you've unlocked, and a record of how coins were earned (so daily limits work).
Notifications. If you turn on notifications, a push token for your phone (an address that lets us send notifications to it) and which kinds of notifications you want.
Purchases. Crescent Plus and bundles are paid for through Apple. We never see your card details. We receive a record of what you bought so we can unlock it (through our payments provider, RevenueCat, once purchases are available).
What stays on your phone. Your settings (theme, sounds, reminder time), and, if you haven't paired yet, your garden, notes and photos. These stay on your phone and aren't sent to us.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers, and Crescent contains no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your shared garden, answers, notes, photos and games on both of your phones.
- To send the notifications you've turned on (for example, "Sam answered today's question"). Notifications never include what anyone wrote.
- To unlock what you've bought and keep coins fair.
- To keep Crescent secure and fix problems.
- To reply when you contact us.
Who can see it
Your partner. Everything you share in Crescent is seen by the person you're paired with. Some things stay hidden until you've both answered (like daily and question-pack answers). Nobody else can see your couple's content: our database only lets the two of you read it.
Service providers that run Crescent for us, only for that purpose:
- Supabase: hosts our database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Expo: delivers push notifications to your phone.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and notifications.
- RevenueCat (once purchases are available): keeps track of subscriptions and purchases.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Keeping it and deleting it
We keep your data while you have an account.
- Delete account (Settings → Pair with your partner) permanently deletes your account, your profile and everything you added, including your photos. If you were the last one in your couple, your shared garden is deleted too.
- Unpairing keeps shared memories with your partner, since they were made together. If both of you leave, the shared garden and album are deleted.
- Deleting the app from your phone removes what's stored on the phone. It doesn't delete your account; use Delete account for that.
Backups kept by our hosting provider may take a short time to cycle out after deletion.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Our database enforces that only you and your partner can read your couple's content, and photos are kept in private storage that's only reachable with short-lived links. No system is perfect, but we work hard to protect your information.
Children
Crescent is made for couples and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your names and details in the app, turn notifications on or off, and delete your account at any time. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California, Nevada, the UK or the EU), you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them. We don't sell personal information.
Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for important changes we'll let you know in the app.
